The latest news
about me is that I have left POWERGRID and joined Areva T&D Ltd. as Project
manager-Telecom.
I am an Electronics and
Communication Engineer working.
I am 31 years old,
m
arried
and lives in Faridabad. At present I am associated with the planning,
design, detail engineering and installation of Optical Fibre Communication
Network of POWERGRID for different regions of India.
I belong to
Saba Pur which is a small but very developed village of Yamuna Nagar Distt.
of Haryana. I was born to a farming family which is KAMBOJ by cast. I did my
schooling from the only school (Govt run)
at that time in my village. Then I did a diploma in Electronics and
Communication Engineering (ECE) from a college in Damla near Yamuna Nagar.
After that I worked for one year in Chandigarh and took entrance test of
S.L.I.E.T.
(Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology)
situated near Sangrur distt. of Punjab. Once again my luck helped me and I
got a good rank (16) and hence took admission in B.Tech in the discipline of my choice
which is ECE.
In the final
semester of my course I saw an advertisement in the news paper for
recruitment of fresh engineers, and as was our frequent routine those days I
applied for the job. It is because of that application that I was in
POWERGRID
Corporation of India Ltd
for seven years. After I left college, I could merely enjoy a couple of months of
freedom before that letter of joining arrived. I did the one year training
provided by my company and fortunately got a gold medal in it (Though it
gave me nothing more than a sense of being proud of myself). After the
training I was given a posting in LD&C (Load Despatch & Communication) deptt.
of POWERGRID situated at Katwaria Sarai. In the mean time I took IES written
test, passed it and then passed the interview as well and was offered a gazzetted post in Prasar Bharti (State run TV company popularly known as
DOORDARSHAN which is a Hindi translation of "Television"). For some time I
was in dilemma whether to join that authorative post or remain in POWERGRID.
On one side was good salary and the job of my interest(technical) and on
other side was the powers of a gazzetted post. Eventually my interest won
and I preferred to remain in POWERGRID. But slowly I felt that even I was
not made for a job in POWERGRID, but something else. So as I said above I
left POWERGRID and joined Areva.
